Mario Simas

Mario R. Simas 45 of New Bedford passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the husband of Tina (Franklin) Simas and son of Orlando Simas of New Bedford and the late Margarida (Rodrigues) Simas. He was born in Fayal, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for many years. He was employed by Sid Wainer as a supervisor and a truck driver. He was very dedicated to his job. Survivors include his wife; his father; 2 sons Christopher Simas of New Bedford, Joshua Simas of New Bedford; 2 daughters Shaiann Simas of New Bedford, Jessica Simas of Fall River; his brother Orlando R. Simas of New Bedford; his sisters Maria S. DaSilva of New Bedford, Estela Leger of Georgia; several grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His funeral mass will be said 9am Saturday at the Church of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery
