Mary O Medeiros

Mary O. (Viveiros) Medeiros, 88, of Acushnet, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late John O Viveiros and the late Alice O (Reis) Viveiros and loving wife to John T. Medeiros. 

Mary was a devoted communicant of St. Mary's Parish in Fairhaven. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking with them, square dancing, sewing, going on walks and getting breakfast with friends and the occasional boat outing. Mary had many jobs including a short time in textile manufacturing and a few years as a school bus driver. 

Survivors include her husband, John; daughters, Debra Reynolds, Rosemary Medeiros and Olivia Oliveira; sons, Richard J Medeiros and Michael A Medeiros; brothers, John Viveiros and Richard Viveiros; grandchildren, Jarrod Medeiros, Mathieu Medeiros, Brandon, Medeiros, Ashley Whiley, Stephen Oliveira, Rebecca Oliveira MacMillan, Jewel MacVeigh Fierro and Victoria Medeiros; great grandchildren, Charles Medeiros, Elijah Medeiros, Marilyn Medeiros and Ashton MacVeigh Fierro and several nieces and nephews.

Mary's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Mary's Parish in Fairhaven at 10am. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. All are welcome to the Boulevard Funeral Home prior to Mary's Funeral Mass at 8:45am to join the procession.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
