Mary Veloza

Mary (Pontes) Veloza 87 of Meriden, CT, died Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Hartford Hospital. She was the widow of Francisco "Frank" Veloza and daughter of the late Antonio Pontes Lira and Eliza (Pereira) Lira. She was born in New Bedford and had lived in Connecticut for many years. She was formerly employed as an assembler for Schick Razor in CT. until her retirement. Survivors include her son David Veloza of Meriden, CT. her brothers Jose Pontes of New Bedford, David Lira of Acushnet; her sisters Hilda Almeida of New Bedford, Dolores Fiano of New Bedford also several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday 9:00am until 10:30am. Her funeral mass will be said 11:00am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's hospital 501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN 38105-1942
