Messias R. Saraiva, 85, of New Bedford, passed away at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center of Fall River on Monday, April 8, 2024. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Saraiva and the late Rosa Saraiva.
He was the loving husband of the late Maria Conceciao Saraiva (Ponte). Messias was a forklift operator for Chamberlain Manufacturing for many years.
Messias leaves behind a son; Jose Rebelo of Portugal and a daughter; Maria Soares, two sisters; Guilhermina Soares and Lidia Pacheco, nine lovely grandchildren; Brian Soares, Kristen Soares, Nicole Costa, Carla Rebelo, Chad Rebelo, Tiago Rebelo, Courtney Rebelo, Ashley Rebelo, Adam Rebelo and several great-grandchildren.
Messias was preceded in death by his son; Joao Rebelo.
All are welcome to join for a visitation that will take place from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 11th at Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 12th at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, followed by a burial in Pine Grove Cemetery at 11:00 am.
