Miguel Bogalhas

Miguel Bogalhas, age 92 of Acushnet passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of Joaquina (Pinto) Bogalhas ,they were married for 51 years Mr. Bogalhas was also the beloved father of Debra Bogalhas Mahan of S. Dartmouth, Precinda Coelho, Albina Borges, Alice Riquinha and Nancy Raposo all of Springhill, Fla., Jose Pinto of Port St. Lucie, Fla and Americo ”Mac” Miranda of Orlando, Fla. He was the brother of Alcides Ferreira Bogalhas of Portugal. Mr. Bogalhas is also survived by15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bogalhas was a son of the late Joao Ferreira Bogalhas and Ana (DaCosta) Bogalhas. He was born in Beca, Boticas, Portugal and lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Bogalhas worked as a laborer for Franchi Construction. His funeral mass will be said 10 Wednesday at St. Mary's church in Fairhaven. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.
