Olive Bertoldo

Olive (Sylvia) Bertoldo 95 of Taunton formerly of New Bedford passed away Tuesday April 8, 2014 at the Longmeadow of Taunton Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George Bertoldo and daughter of the late Joseph and Palmira Maria Jesus (Frizado) Sylvia. She was born in New Bedford and had lived the last few years in Taunton. She was a communicant of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She and her husband were the proprietors of Georges Variety Store in New Bedford until her retirement. Survivors include her sons George Wayne “Butch” Bertoldo and his wife Sandra of Taunton, Richard Michael Bertoldo and his wife Robin of Fall River; her grandchildren Misti Blessing and her husband David of Attleboro, Anthony Bertoldo of Attleboro, Stephanie Alschwede and her husband Charles of St. Petersburg, FL, Amanda Rego and her husband Thelmo of Clearwater, FL; 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass will be said 9am Friday at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
