Pedro Carvalho

Pedro R. Carvalho, age 90 years, died April 20, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Teresa (Ferreira) DeCarvalho. He was the loved father of Jose F. Carvalho of Taunton, Herminio F., Julio F. and Fernando F. Carvalho, all of New Bedford, Maria Odete Miranda of Acushnet and the late Adriano F. Carvalho Sr. and Miguel F. Carvalho. Pedro was the brother of the late Joao Carvalho, Miguel Carvalho, Aurora Carvalho, Adelaide Bartolo and Alda Chaves. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carvalho was the son of the late Rudolfo and Angelina (Teixeira) Carvalho. Born in Sanjurge, Chaves, Portugal he came here in 1966 and has lived in this area. He was a member of the Club of Recordacoes. He was an avid Benfica Futebol fan and loved working in his garden. Pedro traveled to Portugal many times with the thought of how much he hated to fly. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and friends. Mr. Carvalho's funeral will be held Saturday 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will be Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Portugal.
