Peter Ten Eyck

Peter C. Ten Eyck 82 of Acushnet passed away Friday May 6, 2011 at the Oak’s. He was the husband of Isabel K. (Machado) Ten Eyck for 61 years and the son of the late Peter Calvin Ten Eyck and Charlotte (Lambert) Ten Eyck. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Acushnet congregation. Mr. Ten Eyck was a teacher in the automotive division at the Old Colony Regional Technical High School. He retired in 1993, at the age of 65, but stayed active in sports, coordinating programs such as basketball, football and baseball as well as being a scorekeeper. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by both family and friends. Survivors include his wife; his son David P. Ten Eyck and his wife Lynn M. Ten Eyck of New Bedford; his grandchildren David P. Ten Eyck Jr. and Jennifer L. Ten Eyck; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ten Eyck’s  funeral services are private.
