Raised by his grandparents, Alfred W. and Clotilde "Nana" Sylvia, Sr., he graduated from New Bedford High School and attended BCC.Richard was employed at AT&T and had previously worked at Camaioni Landscaping. An excellent cook, he and his partner Raymond took pride in their yard, especially the lights and fountain enjoying the birds and wildlife that visited daily.
