Rita Spooner

New Bedford Rita (Blais) Spooner 93 of New Bedford passed away Sunday July 3, 2011 at the Oak’s. She was the wife of the late Leonard Spooner and daughter of the late Joseph and Ozias (Rousseau) Blais. Born in New Bedford she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and Dartmouth. She was a communicant of St. George church in Westport and St. Mary’s church in South Dartmouth. Mrs. Spooner attended Normandin Jr. High School and worked at Acushnet Process making gas mask during the war. She is survived by 2 sons Jeffrey and Scott. Her memorial mass will be said 10am Saturday August 6 at St. Mary’s church in South Dartmouth. Donations may be made to her family to help defray the cost of her funeral thank you.
