Rosa Goncalves DaSilva

Rosa Goncalves (DaCruz) DaSilva, 93 of New Bedford, passed away at Our Lady’s Haven on Tuesday, August 9^th after a long illness. Born in Zebral, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Antonio DaCruz and Germana Pires and wife of the late Jose DaSilva. Rosa worked for 20 years at Calvin Clothing before retiring. She loved tending to her garden and spending time with her caring family. Rosa is survived by her son; Americo Cruz and wife Lucinda of France; daughters, Albertina Mendes and husband, Amadeu of Somerset, Arminda Reis and partner Domingos Adao of New Bedford, Delfina DaSilva of New Bedford, Idalia DaCosta and husband, Antonio of Fairhaven; brother, Manuel Cruz of Portugal; sisters, Guilhermina Teixeira of France, Piedade Mendes and husband, Orlando of New Bedford; grandchildren, Norberta Cruz, Vitor Cruz, Christine Carpenter, Jennifer Espinal, Michelle Aniceto, Alysen DaCosta, Logan DaCosta; great grandchildren, Mason, Quinn, Brady, Hannah, Eva, Raul; and many nieces and nephews. Rosa is preceded in death by her brothers; Delfim Cruz, Antonio Cruz and Jose Cruz. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 14^th from 5-8pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd. Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 15^th at 9:15am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
