Rosa Pinhancos

Rosa (daCosta) Pinhancos 90 of New Bedford passed away Monday November 1, 2010 at the Royal Tabor St. Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Antonio Pinhancos and daughter of the late Lucio and Aurora (Figueiredo) daCosta. She was born in Linhares, Portugal and had lived in New Bedford for 42 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. She was formerly employed as a stitcher at OV Dress and Cliftex until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, her son Jose Pinhancos of Portugal; her daughters Aurora Marmelo of Acushnet, Angela Coelho of Acushnet, Adozinda Carvalho of Acushnet, Carmen Bourgeois of Westport, her brother Jose daCosta of New Bedford, her sister Alice Marmelo of New Bedford , 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Antonio Pinhancos and Maria Jesus Ribeiro.She was also the sister of the late Andre, Jose Maria, Antonio and Francisco daCosta and Adozinda Almeida. Her funeral mass will be said 9am Friday at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening 7-9pm. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
