New Bedford Rose (Cabral) Andrade 88 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday July 21, 2010 at the Oak’s. She was the widow of Arthur Andrade and daughter of the late John B. and Adelaide (Mendonca) Cabral. She was born in Acushnet and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. She was formerly employed as a buttoner at Mass. Shirt and Grinnell Pajamas until her retirement. Mrs. Andrade loved to make holiday crafts, which she always gave away, she made books for the Kennedy-Donovan Center and the Boston Children’s hospital, she was an avid Red Sox fan and loved to play cards. She was also a member of the Greater Dartmouth Seniors. Survivors include her children, Arthur Andrade Jr. of North Dartmouth, John Andrade of New Bedford, Barbara Carder of Nashua, NH; her brothers Manuel Cabral of VA, David Cabral of Dartmouth; her sisters Mary Grimley of FL, Agnes Francis of New Bedford, Lena Bergeron of Fairhaven, Irene Drolet of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur Cabral and Joseph Cabral. Her funeral mass will be said Saturday 9am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception church. Visitation will be Friday evening 5-8pm. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery.
