Sandra Joao

Sandra (Silva) Joao 75 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Leonard E. Joao and daughter of the late Mauricio N. Silva and the late Dorothy (Rodriques) Jacintho. She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Sandra was a seamstress for Bridal Showcase and did alterations for Gene’s Cleaners. Sandra was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed socializing with lifelong friends at the 6th Bristol Club. Survivors include her daughters Deborah Demers and her companion Larry Wright of Acushnet and Jill Blaise and her spouse Carla Britt of Laurel, MD. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David Blaise and Danielle Denise Blaise and sister of the late Dorothy Jean Pimental. Her funeral service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday May 28 at the Boulevard Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held on Monday May 27 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
