Sandra A. (Ayala) Martins 58 of New Bedford passed away on Monday October 25, 2010 at the New Bedford Rehab hospital. She was the daughter of the late Richard Ayala and the late Elsie (Sylvia) May. She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. She enjoyed fishing and being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons Joseph Martins of Raynham, Trever Taber of N.B., her daughters Rebecca Martins of F.R., Lee Martins of N.B., Kristin Fortin of Rochester; her brothers, Richard Ayala, Robert Arruda, Scott May, Torri May all of New Bedford; her sisters, Brenda Dugal, Bonnie May, Cindy Girouard all of New Bedford and Peggy Ayala of New York; 6 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Bruce Ayala. Visitation will be 6-9pm Friday. A memorial mass be said 9 am on Saturday at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus church. In lieu of flowers donations to the family will be appreciated.
