Teresa Jorge

Teresa “bia other” Jorge 62 of New Bedford passed away Monday October 24, 2016 at Tobey Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Octavio deLemos Jorge and the late Laura (Alves) Jorge. She was born in Acushnet and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a 1972 graduate of NBHS. Teresa was employed as a switchboard – receptionist at the Sacred Heart Home for more than 30 years. She was also a self-employed tax preparer. Her joys in life were her nieces, nephews and her cats. Survivors include her sisters Isabel Dean, Veronica Garzon and Bernadette Pittsley; nieces and nephews Ivan, Jessica, Christopher and Victoria Garzon; 11 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew. She was the sister of the late Carlos and Marianna Jorge. Her Funeral mass will be held 9am Monday October 31st at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Jesus Church. Cremation will follow.
