Thomas M. St. Pierre 72 of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Monday December 9. He was the husband of the late Sandra M. (Costa) St. Pierre and son of the late Herve L. and Filomena Anna (Szczepan) St. Pierre. He was born in New Bedford and had lived in this area all of his life. He was formerly employed as a maintenance person for the City of New Bedford at the downtown library. Thomas served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, obtaining the rank of Private. He also earned the Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Dominican Republic), Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Presidential Unit Commendation with 1 bronze star, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with Gallantry Cross Medal with palm, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with Civil Actions Medal 1st Class, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device, rifle sharpshooter badge and pistol marksman badge. He was also a Master Mason at the Abraham H. Howland Jr. Lodge A.F. & A.M. of New Bedford. Survivors include his son Aaron St. Pierre of New Mexico, his step-daughters Dawn Audette of North Dartmouth, Ann Marie King of Florida, Kimberly Sylvia of Fairhaven, Kendra Leclair of New Bedford and Sharon Worden of New Bedford, his sister Carol Fallon of Milton, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday December 29, 2019 from 1-3pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home. His burial, with military honors, will take place Monday December 30 at the Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 1pm. The funeral cortege will form at 11:45 am at the funeral home.
